Dust-free is a phrase every floor sanding company uses. It is worth knowing what it actually refers to, and what it changes for you while the work is going on.
No sanding process is literally dust-free. What the phrase describes is machinery with integrated dust extraction, which captures the overwhelming majority of what the sander produces at the moment it is made, rather than leaving it to drift through the house and settle on everything you own.

The machines make the difference
We use Lägler and Bona sanding systems with integrated extraction, which capture around 99% of the dust as it is generated. Only a tiny amount escapes. That is the practical difference between a job you can live around and one you cannot.

What it means day to day
Less dust in the air means less of it settling on skirting boards, shelves, curtains and the rooms next door. It means a cleaner site at the end of each day, a much quicker clear-up at the end of the job, and far less disruption if you are staying in the property while the floors are done.

It is not only about mess
Extraction also keeps the abrasive cutting cleanly instead of clogging, which gives a more even cut across the floor. The finish benefits too — less airborne dust means less of it landing in wet lacquer or oil before it has cured.
